2010 – Shakespeare in the Ozarks

Posted by admin On November - 6 - 2009

Now that the new Arvest Stage in Harmon Park has been dedicated for the Shakespeare in the Ozarks 2010 season, we can look forward to the first performance during May Festival of the arts. Keith Scales, Artistic Director for SITO will be bringing a performance of A Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare’s first play.

Located in the amphitheater where the old Summer Auditorium stood before it was demolished sometime around the time of the Great Depression, the new stage returns Harmon Park to its roots as an outdoor community gathering place for the performing arts.

The production of The Comedy of Errors will celebrate Eureka Springs by transposing the action (keeping the story and language intact) to our city of Eureka Spring in its hey day, around 1900. The play weekends, late afternoons Fridays and Saturdays into mid July.

More details coming…to be on the mailing list for play-reading experiences, auditions, and other announcements on Shakespeare in the Ozarks contact Keith Scales.

NOTE: The Comedy of Errors production has been cancelled for this season – please check the website for more details.
