Robert Norman’s poster design was selected as the winning entry in the Eureka Springs 2011 May Festival of the Arts Poster Design Contest. The original design, rendered in Ink and watercolor, will be used in festival ads and promos.
While explaining the concept behind his illustration, Robert stated, “I see Eureka in an atmosphere unlike the surrounding area,” and to illustrate this, he put the city underwater.
The image depicts playful interpretations of several iconic Eureka Springs landmarks including one of the town’s trolleys that the artist describes as, “Bass Transit.” The snail bearing Bluegill fish represents, “Eureka time,” and the added vegetation pays homage to the town’s “Tree City” status.
