Wayne Summerhill will be offering a metal sculpture workshop for all levels at ESSA May 7-11, 2012.
Wayne Summerhill has been creating metal art for over thirty years. He is noted for his steel sculptures of guitars used by many famous musicians including Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, Carl Perkins and Roy Orbison. The Hard Rock Corporation commissioned three of his music inspired sculptures displayed in their Miami location. His work can be seen at the Blue Moon Gallery in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
This workshop will involve basic to advanced methods on tool safety, metal cutting techniques, material preparation, texturing techniques, methods of forming metal, fabrication and welding techniques, and patina and finishes.
The 5-day class schedule is 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
