May 1-31 (month long)

  • Free Music in Basin Spring Park every day, weather permitting. Monday through Friday 3-5 p.m., Saturdays 12-6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • The Inaugural Invitational Art Show at the Queen Anne Mansion Garden Level Gallery(115 W. Van Buren) will be open daily (except Tuesdays) from 10 am – 6 pm. Over 50 Eureka Springs artists will display their newest pieces and show-goers will be able to vote for their favorite work of art, with the winning artist receiving the $1,000 People’s Choice Award.   • Historical Museum Art Exhibit - A collection of paintings by the late Eureka Springs’ artist, Glenn Swedlen, will be on display the entire month of May at the Eureka Springs Historical Museum at 95 S. Main Street, open 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturdays in May 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served on Saturday evenings.   • 5th Annual Art as Prayer Exhibit at Studio 62 Gallery, 335 W. Van Buren – Artists Reception on May 7th, 5:00-8:00 pm. A wide range of artistic interpretation by  artists of various faiths. For more information on the invitational exhibition art show visit the website.
  • Iris at the Basin Park, 8 Spring Street, hosts the 8th Annual High School Art Exhibit presenting the work of high school art students from Berryville and Eureka Springs. This year,  students were challenged to create art that utilized facets of Egyptian life and art of the period. Students, their families, and the public are invited to an opening April 29th from 7-8:30 PM. The exhibit will continue the entire month of May.   • Eureka Fine Art Company, 78 Spring Street, will host 3 artists for the Saturday Gallery Stroll 6-9pm: Larry Mansker – Brilliant, varied work, including large-scale landscapes; James Yale – Masterful mythical realism; and Carol Dickie – Colorful landscapes in mixed water media.   • At Iris at the Basin Park, in honor of Spring, Lorna & Craig Trigg Hirsh are visiting the gallery with a new collection of musical art they have created in their clay studio.   • Quicksilver Gallery, 73 Springs Street, presents the work of potter and sculptor Maura Miller. Her passion for clay began in elementary school, continued through many postgraduate courses in clay and throughout seven years on archeological digs.   • Artisans at the Lake art show and sale in the Grassy Knob community on Beaver Lake will showcase work in jewelry, pottery, oil/water color, woodwork, porcelain, photography and textiles.   • Quicksilver Gallery, 73 Springs Street, is proud to feature  two in-house jewelry artists, Lyla O. Allison and Brian Watson, for this Saturday’s Gallery Stroll. Lyla works with a variety of stones set in sterling silver with 14kt gold accents. Brian’s jewelry is unique in that while each earring is created with the same components, they are not mirror images. Like people, he says they are created equal but different.   • The inaugural Eureka Springs Grand Illumination will take place over the weekend of May 13th-16th with a citywide display of colorful paper lanterns as vibrant and exciting as the city’s famous spring flowers. Downtown Eureka will be aglow with thousands of brilliant paper lanterns, day and night, as will many of the city’s stately Victorian homes. In addition to the beautiful displays other Eureka Springs Grand Illumination activities include paper lantern painting for kids in Basin Spring Park.   • Zark’s Fine Design Gallery presents a show & artist’s reception for renowned glass artisan Rollin Karg: Hot Glass & Cold Steel – blown glass and metal sculptures.   • ‘Celebration of Humanity’ at The Center for Soulful Living’s new Open-Air Meditation Sanctuary (OMS) The public is invited for outdoor fun and a dynamic exchange of energy and ideas on group evolution. The OMS is a 10-acre meadow and woodland park featuring 14 cultivated meditation areas connected by walking trails.   • Castle Rogue’s Manor will present Rendezvous 2010 VIP Party as a finale to their 3 day May Festival of the Arts weekend extravaganza. The Memorial Day event includes Musicians and the Arts, Magic, and fireworks. Event starts at 8 PM in the great Hall of Castle Rogue’s Manor.
